Bangladesh thrash Nepal in Bangabandhu IHF Handball
Bangladesh continued their dominance in the Bangabandhu IHF Challenge Trophy Women's Handball ( Under-17) tournament winning their second consecutive game on Sunday.
Followed by the convincing win over Maldives in the first game Bangladesh registered a thumping 50-4 goal win over Nepal at Shaheed Captain Monsur Ali Handball stadium in Dhaka.
The Under-17 girls were leading by 24-2 goals in the first half to eventually seal a comprehensive win in the end. With two consecutive wins Bangladesh are eyeing for the place in the final where if India beats Maldives in the days' other game today the hosts will confirm the place in the final.
We have manage to win by a huge goal margin however we could have prepared well if the opponent was stronger since our next game is against India and they are a strong unit," Bangladesh coach Dalia Akhter told the media.
Dipa Rani has been the prime performer for Bangladesh in today's game where the coach utilised her in various positions such as wing, left back, centre back and also in the right back.
Dipa has performed consistently like the previous game as she was able to do well in whichever position we played her. She proved herself in every position," Dalia said.
