Aaryan holds lead, Fahad 2nd in Leonine GM Chess

Bangladesh's International Master (IM) Fahad Rahman remained in second position, one point behind India's IM Aaryan Varshney, after all sixth round matches of the Leonine 3rd Grandmasters Chess Tournament ended in draws at the Leonine Chess Club hall room in Dhanmondi, Dhaka today.

IM Aaryan drew with Ubekistan's Grand Master (GM) Abdisalimov Abdimalik to secure five points from six matches. IM Fahad is in second position with four points after a draw against FIDE Master (FM) Sakline Mostafa Sajid.

IM Manan Reja Neer drew with IM Abu Sufian Shakil while Nguyen drew with Indian FM Panesar Vedant and FM Tahsin Tajwar Zia drew with GM Reefat Bin Sattar.

Neer, GM Abdisalimov and Vietnam's GM Nguyen Duc Hoa were jointly in third position with 3.5 points each.

FM Tajwar, GM Reefat and FM Sakline were jointly in the fourth position with two points each while IM Shakil was on the bottom of the table with one point.
