Higuain to Juve a done deal?

Preliminary reports emerging from Italy are confirming that Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain has signed for Juventus after a drawn-out transfer saga.

Both La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sports Italia have confirmed that the deal for the 28-year-old has been all wrapped up, with the fee estimated to be above 90 million euros.

That would likely mean that Juventus had gone ahead and activated the player’s buy-out clause, which was 94 million euros, leaving Napoli with no choice in proceedings.

Higuain was under immense pressure from fans as they branded him a traitor and burned his jerseys in Naples city centre when rumours of the move began to emerge.

The deal is thought to be for four years and will see the Argentine taking home 7.5 million euros a season.

With this deal out of the way, it means that Juventus may finally be willing to sell Paul Pogba for a world record fee, with Manchester United in a highly-publicised pursuit of the French player.

The Serie A's official website (http://www.legaseriea.it) has also confirmed the transfer as Higuain can now be found under the Juventus squad.
