Walton to sponsor women's team

Walton have become the sponsors for the women's football team for the 4th SAAF Women's Championship, which is scheduled to begin from December 26 in Siliguri, India.

Walton will provide the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Tk 5 lakh apart from providing kits and boots. However, it was thought that the game's governing body would have earned an even bigger deal following the women's successes, especially the Under-16 women's team's triumph in the AFC Championship Qualifiers.

“We had sent proposals to four or five corporate houses who were interested in women's football and Walton's offer has been ahead of the others,” said BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag.

Walton have been a part of women's football for the past few years and its director in sports Iqbal Bin Anwar has promised to attach himself to the U-16 women's ongoing training camp for next year's AFC U-16 Women's Championship and also sponsor the upcoming Women's Championship.
