Sanjida and Co discover money stolen from their luggage
A few members of Bangladesh's SAFF Women's Championship-winning team discovered money stolen from their respective luggage later in the day yesterday, where the team received a grand reception upon their arrival in the country from Kathmandu.
After the Bangladesh team touched down at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 1:46 pm yesterday, they embarked on a more than four-hour long journey from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) headquarters in Dhaka.
The BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag told The Daily Star today: "I heard two of them lost 500 dollars each and one of them lost Bangladeshi takas and Nepali rupees."
The unfortunate victims, in this case, are Sanjida Akhtar, Krishna Rani Sarkar and Shamsunnahar Senior. However, the location of the theft remains unknown, as of yet.
BFF executive Tushar Imran informed The Daily Star that they haven't found any cut on any of the luggage -- carried from the airport to the BFF on a covered van -- and locks were in place. However, the BFF had asked the airport security to investigate the CCTV footage.
