After a gap of 502 days, Brazilian superstar Neymar finally found the back of the net when he converted from the spot for Santos in their 3-1 win over Agua Santa in the Sao Paulo State Championship today.

Neymar, who left Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal and rejoined his boyhood club Santos in January, drew the foul inside the box to earn the penalty and then sent the opposition keeper the wrong way in the 14th minute to end his goal drought.

Later in the match, Neymar also claimed his first assist since rejoining Santos, helping his side to a comfortable win against the fourth division club.

The 33-year-old's last goal in a competitive match was for Al Hilal against FC Nassaji on October 3, 2023, which was also his only goal for the Saudi club.

Neymar, Brazil national team's highest goal-scorer with 128 goals, spent most of his time injured during his one-and-half-year stint with Al Hilal before both parties mutually terminated the contract six months before its completion.
