Mbappe and Champions League hattrick records

Kylian Mbappe produced one of the most spectacular individual performances in Champions League history on Wednesday, scoring four goals -- including the second-fastest hat-trick ever recorded in the competition -- as Real Madrid defeated Olympiacos 4–3 in Greece.

Mbappe's first three goals arrived in an astonishing six minutes and 42 seconds, making his treble the second quickest in Champions League history, behind only Mohamed Salah's 6 minutes 12 seconds. 

His rapid burst also reinforced his place among Europe's elite hat-trick scorers; he now has five Champions League hat-tricks, continuing to climb the all-time list and becoming one of the few players to score hat-tricks for multiple clubs (Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid).

His extraordinary finish in Athens added another milestone: he has scored two hat-tricks in the 2025-26 Champions League season, matching several legendary campaigns by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Karim Benzema.
