Butler's charges suffer 3-0 defeat against Thailand
Bangladesh suffered a 3-0 defeat against Thailand in the first of their two FIFA friendly matches at the Bangkok Thonburi University Football Training Centre on Friday.
Peter Butler's charges, who are in Thailand as part of their preparation for next year's Asian Cup, conceded the opening goal in the first minute of the match. The lead was doubled five minutes after restart and the hosts, who are 53rd in FIFA ranking compared to Bangladesh's 104th, completed the rout four minutes before the final whistle.
The match wasn't telecast on any platform, however, according to the match scorecard, Rupna Chakma played as the goalkeeper while Sheuili Azim, Shamsunnahar Sr, Afeida Khandaker and Kohati Kisu played in defence. Monika Chakma, Maria Manda and Munki Akter played in midfield while Ritu Porna Chakma, Shamsunnahar Jr and Tohura Khatun played as the three forwards.
The English coach made five substitutions in the second half, bringing on Mosammat Sagorika for Tohura and Shaheda Akter Ripa for Munki at the start before replacing Sheuli, Shamsunnahar Sr, Afeida and Ritu Porna with Joynob Bibi Rita, Nabiran Khatun, Sinha Jahan Shikha and Halima Akter.
The second match will be played on Monday.
