Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) yesterday dissolved 29 elected bodies of district and divisional football associations (DFAs), citing unavailability and resignation of association officials as well as inactivity of the said associations.

The decision was taken at the second meeting of the BFF executive committee after a four-member DFA-monitoring committee recommended to form ad-hoc committees in those associations. The DFA monitoring committee was also dissolved at the meeting.

"Having investigated in 36 district and divisional football associations, the DFA monitoring committee suggested to form ad-hoc committees in 29 DFAs including eight divisions. The committee did not find officials to correspond regarding age-group tournament across the country," BFF's media committee chairman Amirul Islam Babu said after the meeting at the BFF House, adding that the ad-hoc committees will be formed immediately and that they will hold elections within 90 days.

BFF member Kamrul Islam Hiton later informed that some of the association officials have gone into hiding and some associations have remained inactive for the last four years. He added that the DFA monitoring committee was dissolved due to dispute.

Most of the dissolved bodies, formed during the regime of Kazi Salahuddin, casted their votes on BFF October 20 elections as well as tie-breaking elections on November 30.

Babu also informed that the executive committee also decided to increase fees for the referees to Tk 5000 from Tk 4000, effective from January 1 while the unpaid wages of the referees of the last two years will be cleared gradually.

"The meeting also discussed about the national team's coach Javier Cabrera but no decision was taken and we are expecting a decision within next seven days," said Babu, adding that general secretary Emran Hossain Tushar has been given a two-year extension.
