Bangladesh inch up to 183 in FIFA rankings after HK hurdles

Bangladesh have moved up one spot to 183 in the latest FIFA rankings, published on Friday, following a 4-3 home defeat and a 1-1 draw away against Hong Kong, China, in 2026 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.
Their opponents, Hong Kong, dropped two places to 148, as did groupmates India (136). Singapore, however, climbed three spots to 155.
Within Asia, Syria were the biggest movers, climbing six places to 86, while Japan maintained their position as the continent's top team at 19.
On the global stage, meanwhile, Spain remain world number one, with reigning champions Argentina overtaking France to second, and Germany re-entering the top 10.
The previous FIFA rankings were released on September 18.
