Bangladesh football team return home from Nepal on a BAF aircraft

The Bangladesh national football team returned home from Nepal on a Bangladesh Air Force aircraft at around 4:40 pm today after being stranded in the Himalayan nation due to political unrest that disrupted flight operations and delayed their scheduled departure.
"The Bangladesh national football team is expected to return to Bangladesh from Nepal today, September 11, 2025, at around 3:00 pm via a Bangladesh Air Force aircraft. The Bangladesh Air Force plane, which left for Nepal, departed Dhaka at 11:53 am today," read an earlier statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The Bangladesh team was originally scheduled to return on Wednesday, but the second and final FIFA friendly match against Nepal was called off following Monday's violence, which claimed at least 19 lives and led to the resignation of the country's Prime Minister. In light of the worsening situation, the Bangladesh Football Federation managed to reschedule the team's flight for Tuesday.
However, due to escalating protests and political instability, the airport authority cancelled all flights, forcing the players and officials to remain at a hotel in Kathmandu.
