PERFORMER OF THE DAY: NEIL WAGNER
Having endured bouncers in Wellington, one of which drew blood, New Zealand bouncer specialist Neil Wagner with bat in hand was instrumental in his team getting the first-innings lead in Christchurch with 26 yesterday. But his run-out, which ended the innings, was of the most unfortunate sort as he had already reached the crease and was airborne in mid stride when wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan's backward flick dislodged the bails. That fired the quickie up perfectly, and he bowled with unyielding aggression, taking the crucial wicket of Mahmudullah Riyad, the highest Bangladesh scorer, before coming back to break the back of the opposition with the wickets of Sabbir Rahman and Nurul with his favoured lifters.
