Tamim won’t hold a press conference the next time he leaves

Bangladesh's ODI captain Tamim Iqbal, currently vacationing in Dubai, spoke to two media outlets in the country regarding what will happen regarding his return to the team following the retirement saga.
While the air around his return still appears murky, the cricketer believes that when he waves goodbye to cricket the next time, it will not be through a press conference.
Even though Tamim did not clarify the concrete reasons behind his retirement announcement, it could be ascertained that if the situation that forced him to announce retirement persists, everything will be back to square one.
"There were enough reasons," he told Dhaka Tribune in an interview.
"Another thing is that the decision was not taken overnight," he added.
The left-handed batter also talked about the circumstances which led him to take such a difficult decision in the middle of the Afghanistan series, one he would eventually overturn following intervention from the Prime Minister.
"As I said before, I wasn't very comfortable with one thing for the last 6-7-8 months. Whatever the reason, I didn't want to give up. It's got nothing to do with cricket. I didn't score runs in the last three series, but it has nothing to do with performances. I tried to keep fighting and change the situation. Once I felt that I can't push myself anymore, can't fight and the situation has gone out of my control, I thought 'that's it, no more'," he told bdnews24.com in another interview.
The situation regarding Tamim's injury is just as unclear as his captaincy. Tamim outlined two factors which he felt were not going well. One was the chain of command which he would not like to break, while also suggesting the fitness drills he had been prescribed had not taken his previous injury issues into consideration.
"I always respect the chain of command. I am a national team cricketer and my direct boss is Jalal ]Yunus[ bhai. Anything I have to do or say, it must be through him and the department. Yes, I do maintain good communication with the board president [Nazmul Hassan] as well but I never want to break the chain of command. I will not say I have been able to maintain this 100 per cent but I always try to. But this is not a very common practice here, I must say," he told both outlets.
"The problem was, the pain from my back was spreading to other parts of the body, so I missed the India series.
"Then I played the Bangladesh Premier League taking injections but I had to stop after playing 10 games as I could feel that the pain was reappearing. I did not take any risk as we had the England series and Ireland series at home and away. I was fine in those series.
"The injury reappeared recently when I was working in the gym. Now the question should be whether the exercise I was doing in the gym was right or wrong. Why was I given an exercise which I should not be doing?" he said.
Tamim said everything now depends on his meeting with cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus.
"I'll sit with the board regarding the reasons which made me retire. If the situation stays the same, then I'll still be at zero," he told bdnews24.com.
Tamim did, however, say that when he waves goodbye next time, he will not hold a press conference.
"I have already seen my retirement. I will not have a press conference when I leave the game again. That part is done. There can be nothing more honest than the press conference I had done that day. Tears and emotions cannot be faked," he told the news outlets.
"My retirement part is done," he suggested.
