Taijul's fourth leaves Ireland eight down
Bangladesh left-arm spinner Taijul Islam's fourth wicket of the innings reduced Ireland to 203 for eight after the end of the 73rd over on the first day of the one-off Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.
Taijul sent back set batter Lorcan Tucker for a well-made 37 in the 71st over. Tucker looked to sweep to a full, flighted delivery outside off-stump but missed it and dragged his feet out of the crease as he overcompensated while trying to reach it.
Liton Das behind the stumps made no mistake and whipped the bails.
The dismissal brought Graham Hume to the crease, while Mark Adair remained unbeaten on 21.
Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan who held himself back with the ball finally decided to come into the attack in the 66th over.
