Sohan undergoes X-ray after ankle twist; Shoriful set for MRI

Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan Sohan was taken to a nearby hospital for an X-ray after twisting his ankle during the third and final T20I against the West Indies at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram on Friday.

Fast bowler Shoriful Islam also sustained a right hamstring injury in the same match and will undergo an MRI soon.

"Sohan suffered a right ankle twist and was taken to a nearby hospital. Shoriful suffered a right hamstring strain. His assessment is ongoing, and he will undergo an MRI tomorrow to determine the extent of the injury," said BCB senior media manager Rabeed Imam after the match.

Sohan was stretchered off in the 11th over of the West Indies' innings after showing visible discomfort in his right leg. The team physiotherapist attended to him on the field before he was taken for further medical evaluation.

Shoriful, who bowled two overs for 12 runs, will be closely monitored by the medical team as his recovery progresses.
