Shanto, Miraz get new responsibilities in CWAB committees

Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) held its first meeting on Saturday and announced the new committees of the players' organisation.

The meeting was presided over by CWAB president Mohammad Mithun, attended by senior vice-president Shahriar Hossain Biddut and vice-president Nurul Hasan Sohan. CWAB held its elections on September 4 with Mithun elected as president of the players' organisation. 

Cricketers such as Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz were handed roles in new committees with Shanto in Current Men's Players Committee while Miraz took over in Fund Mobilization Committee.

Alongside Shanto and Miraz, other executive committee members Shamsur Rahman, Rumana Ahmed, Imrul Kayes, Irfan Sukkur, and Akbar Ali also attended the meeting.

"CWAB must gain the trust of all men's and women's cricketers in Bangladesh. The wellbeing of cricketers are our topmost priority. We will find time from our busy schedules to help cricketers, and run CWAB smoothly," Mithun said in a CWAB media release.

Corporate personality Shehzad Munim and journalist Mohammad Isam were appointed as the committee's advisers.

Administration: Shamsur Rahman Shuvo

Finance Committee: Irfan Shukkur

Current Men's Players Committee: Akbar Ali and Najmul Hossain Shanto

Current Women's Players Committee: Rumana Ahmed

Fund Mobilization Committee: Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Imrul Kayes

Media and Communications Committee: Nurul Hasan Sohan

Event Committee: Mohammad Mithun and Mominul Haque
