Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto marks a brilliant comeback from injury, smashing 80 off 54 deliveries for Rajshahi Division in their National Cricket League (NCL) T20 fixture against Barishal Division at Sylhet Outer Stadium on Saturday.

Despite the valiant effort of Shanto after over a month-long layoff from injury, sustained during last month's Afghanistan ODI series in Sharjah, Rajshahi lost by five wickets in a high-scoring thriller.

In the day's earlier match at the same venue, Dhaka Metro edged past Sylhet Division with a six-run win in an 18-over encounter, courtesy of mystery spinner Aliss Al Islam removing three frontline batters, including Imrul Kayes.

Meanwhile, at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium (SICS), Chattogram Division hammered Dhaka Division by 10 wickets after they bowled their opponents out for just 64 runs, with left-arm seamer Fahad Hossain being the wrecker-in-chief with 4-11 in four overs.

In reply, openers Tamim Iqbal (21*) and Mahmudul Hasan Joy (44*) cruised to target in 11 overs.

At SICS earlier, Rangpur Division beat Sylhet Division five wickets, riding on a 32-ball 63-run stand between Naeem Islam (50) and Abdullah Al Mamun (29) for the third wicket.
