Shakib stars in Galle Titans’ victory

Shakib Al Hasan produced an all-round display in his Lanka Premier League side Galle Titans' massive 83-run victory over B-Love Kandy on Tuesday. 

Shakib scored a quickfire 21-ball 30 to help his side to a commendable total of 180 for five before scalping two for 10 in his three overs to help bundle out B-Love Kandy to 97 in 17.1 overs in Colombo. 

Coming in to bat at three down, Shakib starred in a rapid 95-run fourth-wicket stand off just 52 deliveries with Tim Seifert. Shakib, who smashed two sixes, could have seen his knock turn into something even more special had he not been made run out in the 18th over.

Seifert smashed a 39-ball 74, laced with five boundaries and as many maximums, to see Galle Titans end up with a big total on the board. 

Coming into the bowling attack in the ninth over, Shakib started off with a wide but got wicket of Asif Ali with his first legal delivery of the game to leave B-Love Kandy reeling at six for 46 in 8.1 overs. 

Shakib also ended his spell for the game just the way he had started, with another wicket – that of Aamer Jamal in the 13th over. 

Only a team-high of 19-ball 27 coming from Ashen Bandara, B-Love Kandy never looked to be in charge of the chase as they fell short by a long way.
