'Didn't like how they treated their own players': Sammy after Ctg crowd chants 'bhua'

West Indies head coach Daren Sammy expressed disappointment over the behaviour of a section of Bangladesh supporters during the third and final T20I in Chattogram on Friday, where the visitors sealed a 3-0 series whitewash.

As Bangladesh faltered once again -- eventually losing the match by five wickets with 19 balls to spare while defending 151 -- frustration grew among the home crowd. Fans chanted "bhua, bhua" ("useless, useless") throughout the game, even calling out specific players by name as the team struggled to perform.

Curious about the meaning of the chant, Sammy later learned what it signified -- and said he didn't appreciate such treatment of home players.

"I didn't like how they treated their own players," said the two-time T20 World Cup-winning captain while speaking to local media after the match. "I think they said 'bhua, bhua,' and I heard what it means. When you come to support your home team, you are a fan. Every player goes there trying to do well. You should support them. But they [the crowd] are good, and I know they want their team to perform. But more support and more encouragement -- it goes a long way. Do not chastise the players. To the fans: Be nice."

Bangladesh's batting performance remained under scrutiny across all three games of the series, as the hosts lost each match after struggling to post or chase competitive totals.

Beyond the defeats, the incident once again highlighted the volatility of local fan reactions -- a reflection of how quickly adoration can turn into anger in the country's passionate cricket culture.
