Naim’s 176 takes Prime Bank to record List A total

Mohammad Naim Sheikh blazed a 125-ball 176 as Prime Bank recorded 422 for 8, the highest-ever team total in Bangladesh's List A cricket during the Dhaka Premier League match against Brothers Union at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today. This was the first-ever instance of a DPL team getting past the 400-run mark in a match.
Brothers Union were bowled out for 249, giving Prime Bank a 173-run win. Aich Mollah managed 96 off 110 deliveries but the other batters were not able to contribute heavily in the chase. Hasan Mahmud and Khaled Ahmed finished with two wickets apiece while Rishad Hossain scalped three wickets for 66 runs.
Naim, who had been amongst the runs in domestic cricket lately, took 38 deliveries to complete his fifty and then reached his hundred in 82 deliveries. Following his hundred he took the Brothers bowling attack to the cleaners before perishing in the 39th over.
Naim and Sabbir Hossain put on 140 for the opening stand to set the trajectory of Prime Bank's innings. Sabbir departed for a 63-ball 73 but Naim kept on going, his ton coming in the 29th over as he found a boundary through fine-leg.
Naim departed in the 39th over, missing out on a double ton, his innings laced with 18 fours and 8 sixes. Abdulla Al Mamun hit a 22-ball 40 while Sazzadul Hoque hit 50 off 37 at the death. Rishad Hossain also played a cameo eight-ball 17 as Prime Bank were able to put on 105 runs in the last 10 overs to get to the record total of 422, beating Abahani's 393 for four against Prime Doleshwar back in 2018.
Prime Bank's innings was powered by 43 fours and 17 sixes.
Al Amin Hossain bagged three for 77 runs while Saluddin Shakib got two in an otherwise difficult day for Prime Bank bowlers.
