Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz won't feature in the upcoming three-match T20I series against Netherlands as he asked the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to be excluded from the series, citing family reasons.

BCB's new cricket operations manager Jamal Babu confirmed the development to The Daily Star on Tuesday, adding that the board has accepted his leave application.

The 27-year-old was part of Bangladesh's last three T20I series – two against Pakistan in home and away and one against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka – but he featured in only five out of nine games. His performances weren't satisfactory as well, scoring 64 runs and taking four wickets in those four outings.

Netherlands are all set to arrive in Bangladesh on August 26 for the second ever bilateral T20I series between the two nations. All three matches will take place at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on August 30, September 1 and 3 respectively.

The last time both teams played in a bilateral T20I series was back in 2012 which ended in a 1-1 draw at The Hague, Netherlands.
