Litton believes T20 team will return refreshed after break

Bangladesh T20 captain Litton Das believes the upcoming break will help his side recover from a hectic schedule and return stronger for their next assignment against Ireland later this month.

Following a packed calendar that included the Asia Cup, Afghanistan series in the UAE, and a home whitewash against the West Indies, several players will finally get some rest. Litton feels the pause comes at the right time.

"Even before the series, I said I wanted us to go through a tough period," Litton said after the West Indies series. "I think we were tested in every aspect -- they bowled very well and batted superbly. Everyone playing here is proven and has been performing for a long time. Sometimes, one or two series can go this way."

The skipper believes that back-to-back cricket has taken a toll on the players.

"The players here have been playing continuously for two and a half months. Sometimes a break is important. Now that we have one, I believe we'll return refreshed and things will get better," he added.

Litton admitted that mental and physical fatigue had affected performances.

"We came under pressure and couldn't get out of it. When players play too much cricket, fatigue sets in. They try to give their all, but things don't go their way. After the break, we'll start afresh, feeling rejuvenated."

Bangladesh will next play a three-match T20I series at home against Ireland this month.
