Kohli seemingly snubs Head after heated on-field exchange
Virat Kohli appeared to ignore Travis Head during the post-match handshakes after Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their IPL 2026 match in Hyderabad on Friday.
According to an ESPNCricinfo report, Kohli shook hands with SRH captain Pat Cummins and opener Abhishek Sharma as the teams lined up after the match, but walked past Head despite the Australian batter extending his hand.
During RCB’s chase, Kohli and Head were also seen exchanging words on the field. However, it was not clear what led to the incident.
SRH posted 255 for 4 after being asked to bat first. RCB needed at least 166 runs to secure a top-two finish in the league stage and 178 to move to the top of the table. They eventually finished on 200 for 4.
Kohli scored 15 off 11 balls before being dismissed by Sakib Hussain in the final over of the Powerplay.
RCB will now face Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1 in Dharamsala on May 26 after finishing second in the standings. SRH finished third and will play the Eliminator in New Chandigarh on May 27.
The final playoff spot is still undecided, with Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals remaining in contention.
