Bangladesh opener Soumya Sarkar suffered a blow on the same hand which he had injured during the tour of West Indies while training in the national team's ongoing camp ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur today.

Soumya missed the third T20I in West Indies after sustaining a cut to his right index finger. He returned to competitive action in the BPL but today suffered yet another hit on his right hand while facing left-arm pacer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury during a net session.

Sources at the BCB medical department said that Soumya was sent for scans immediately and there was no fracture.

"He is doing well. He was hit on the same finger where he suffered the injury recently [in West Indies] but it's nothing major," a BCB source said.

It remains to be seen how long it takes for Soumya to recover with the Champions Trophy set to begin on February 19.
