Hridoy departs for a golden duck against Dambulla in LPL
Jaffna Kings batter Towhid Hridoy's streak of impactful innings came to an end against Dambulla Aura at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium on Monday as he was dismissed for a golden duck.
Chasing Dambulla's 134, Hridoy, who came in at three, perished while trying to launch left-arm pacer Binura Fernando over midwicket but only managed to top-edge it to deep square-leg in the third over of the innings.
The 24-year-old started his LPL campaign with a bang, bringing up a fifty in his very first match. He then followed it up with a 24, 44 not out, 19, and finally today's nought. This brought his total tally to 141 runs in the tournament.
