Champions Trophy in Bangladesh: Chance for fans to see the trophy up close

The ICC Champions Trophy is set to arrive in Bangladesh today as part of its global tour and will stay in the country from December 9-13, giving fans a chance to see the coveted trophy up close.

After arriving in Dhaka, the trophy will be taken to Cox's Bazar tomorrow and be put on display in front of Shimanto Sommelon Kendra Urmee at the Laboni Point beach from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on December 11.

The trophy will then be brought back to Dhaka and will be put on public display at the Bashundhra City Shopping Mall in Panthapath from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.

The following day, the trophy will be put on display at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium for members of the national men's and women's team, current and former cricketers, officials, organisers and members of the media.

Eight teams including Bangladesh are set to take part in next year's ICC Champions Trophy. The tournament was set to take part in Pakistan but currently its future is uncertain with the Indian and Pakistani cricket officials busy in negotiations with the ICC to decide where and in which model the tournament will take place.
