Batting the main concern for Tigresses

Batting remains the biggest area of concern for Bangladesh as they will be eyeing to register their maiden ODI series win over India when the two sides will lock horns in the third and series-deciding ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday.
The Tigresses managed to successfully defend a low total of 152 runs in the first ODI but the visitors bounced back emphatically in the second as they cruised to a 108-run win to level the series.
Bangladesh head coach Hashan Tillakaratne admitted that batting has been a big area of concern for the hosts and pointed out a few areas where the Tigresses can work on to improve in the third game.
"Yes, batting is a big cause of worry since they are getting out after being set. The most difficult thing is to get set at the wicket and you cannot afford to throw your wicket away once you get set. In the second ODI, we were 103 for three after 29 overs and we thought we were going according to the situation. But after we lost the wicket of Pinky(Fargana Hoque), we were practically out of the game. So yes, we are thinking about our batting and the biggest area of concern is not to give away too many dot balls. Apart from that, we were well behind in the first power play. We had a discussion and I am sure they will come up with a better performance," said Tillakaratne.
Meanwhile, according to leg spinner Fahima Khatun, the hosts had a good discussion over their mistakes in the second game and said that the Tigresses are hopeful about playing better cricket in the third ODI.
"We had discussions for the last two days over the mistakes we made in the previous game. I will say that we have played good cricket so far and we were able to perform as a unit in the first game. We did try in the second game but unfortunately… As a batting unit, all our batters are talented and everyone has the ability. Unfortunately, we were unable to deliver. We had a good discussion with the coach and the team management and we are hopeful about playing as a unit," said Fahima.
