Bangladesh vs West Indies ODI Series: Key Stats

Bangladesh and West Indies will face off in the first ODI of the three-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday.
The match is set to begin at 1:30 pm.

Ranking points will be on the line as both teams aim to strengthen their chances for automatic qualification for the 2027 World Cup. Historically, there's little to separate the two sides — each has won six bilateral ODI series against the other.

Following a 3-0 whitewash against Afghanistan, Bangladesh will look to recover quickly and avoid a fifth successive ODI series defeat. The upcoming home series offers a valuable opportunity for redemption.

HIGHLIGHTS

***West Indies and Bangladesh have met 47 times in ODIs. West Indies have won 24, Bangladesh 21, with two matches ending without a result.

***The sides are evenly matched in bilateral ODI series, having won six each over the years.

***At the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, West Indies hold a slight edge — winning six of their 10 encounters against Bangladesh, while losing four. The visitors also played one additional match at the venue, a 2011 ICC World Cup fixture, which they lost to Pakistan.

***From the current West Indies squad, only Shai Hope and Roston Chase have previously played ODIs in Bangladesh.

***Bangladesh have lost their last five ODI series dating back to November last year, winning just two of their 14 matches in that period.
