Another chance to improve fitness for Mosaddek and others ahead of NCL T20

A total of 30 cricketers are expected to undergo a fitness test at the National Stadium in Dhaka tomorrow before joining their respective sides for the upcoming National Cricket League (NCL) T20, scheduled to start on September 14.
The list includes players like Sabbir Rahman, Mosaddek Hossain, Abu Hider Rony, and Yasir Ali. Sabbir didn't undergo the recent fitness test, which was conducted on September 4-5, as he was out of the country, while the others will repeat the fitness test as they didn't perform satisfactorily in the initial test.
"Some of them were absent in the first test, while others didn't have good timing in the first test. That's the reason we are giving them an opportunity for a repeat test," BCB's tournament committee chairman AEM Kawser told The Daily Star on Thursday.
"We had a benchmark of six minutes and 40 seconds for a 1600-metre sprint (four 400 metres run). If anyone takes the repeat test and manages to improve their timing, they will get the license to play in the entire NCL. Otherwise, if anyone doesn't opt to undergo the fitness test, he may get a restriction for a number of matches according to the suggestions of fitness staff," he concluded.
The teams will also travel to Rajshahi and Bogura tomorrow for the opening three rounds of the NCL T20.
Rajshahi Division will take on Dhaka Metro in Rajshahi, while Sylhet Division will face reigning champions Rangpur Division in Bogura in the opening day fixtures.
