Even though most cricket pundits are not giving Bangladesh that much of a chance to progress past the group stages of the Champions Trophy, former India spinner turned commentator Murali Karthik believes Bangladesh can spring a surprise and make it to the semifinals from Group A alongside India. 

A group of experts from Cricbuzz mostly chose either Afghanistan or South Africa as their dark horse. Kartik, however, believes Bangladesh are the real dark horse.

"Bangladesh is a dangerous team," he said about the team that might be the underdog in the event.

"India and Bangladesh will make the semifinals. South Africa should do well, and Australia too," Kartik said.

Bangladesh are pitted alongside India, defending champions Pakistan and New Zealand in Group A while Group B features Australia, South Africa, England and Afghanistan.
