A four-pronged spin attack and skipper Rohit Sharma's distinguished knock at the to of the order helped India to a four-wicket win over New Zealand in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. 

Mystery spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy scalped two wickets each, Ravindra Jadeja picked up one, while Axar Patel was very frugal as India restricted New Zealand to 251-7. Rohit led the way in the run chase, smashing seven fours and three sixes for his 83-ball 76 and valuable contributions from Shreyas Iyer (48 off 62 balls), Axar Patel (29 off 40 balls), Hardik Pandya (18 off 18 balls), and KL Rahul (not out on 34 off 33 balls) made sure India cross the finish line to clinch their third Champions Trophy after jointly winning the tournament with Sri Lanka in 2002 and becoming outright winners in 2013.
