Bangladesh match sparks PCB protest over missing ‘Pakistan’ in broadcast

With tensions running high ahead of Sunday's India-Pakistan showdown in the recently commenced Champions Trophy, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has raised concerns with the ICC over a broadcast issue during India's opening match against Bangladesh on Thursday.

Reports from ESPNcricinfo and Deccan Herald suggest that the PCB is unhappy that the word "Pakistan" was missing from the broadcast logo in the top-left corner -- something that had been visible in other matches. While the PCB has demanded an explanation, the ICC has attributed the omission to a technical glitch.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, India's anthem mistakenly played between England and Australia's in Lahore on Saturday. The error was quickly fixed but sparked online debate ahead of cricket's fiercest rivalry in Dubai.

India, playing all their matches in Dubai under the tournament's hybrid model, will face Pakistan in what promises to be a high-voltage encounter. With controversy already making headlines, the build-up to the clash has only intensified.
