Abu Jayed's four-wicket haul ensures victory for Khulna Titans after they posted 170 runs on the board for Chittagong Vikings to chase down.

Abu Jayed removed the dangerous Luke Ronchi and Soumya Sarkar in the very first over of the Chittagong Vikings innings.

Both openers went trying to dictate terms against the young medium pacer who altered his line and length well to the batsmen. The Chittagong batsmen perhaps felt the pressure of trying to chase down the 171-run target set by the Titans.

Dilshan Munaweera, who had struck a four and six in Jayed's second over was next to go as he was holed out at deep mid-wicket by South Africa 's Rilee Rossouw, who took a brilliant catch running in from deep square leg – Abu Jayed was once again the wicket taker.

Braithwaite then took the wicket of Anamul Haque as Vikings were tottering at 38 for four inside five overs. Slow and steady Misbah-ul- Haq together with Sikandar Raza steadied the Vikings innings with a 59-run partnership from 51 deliveries.

Vikings lost their fifth wicket on 97 runs when Shafiul Islam bowled Raza out and the Chittagong chase slowly fell by the wayside. Sikander scored a team-high 27-ball 37, an innings that contained three four's and two sixes.

Misbah then fell to Abu Jayed as the young medium pacer finished with four for 35 from four overs.

Chittagong Vikings finished on 152 runs from 20 overs that gave Khulna Titans an 18-run victory and their second win in the BPL 2017.

Earlier, Chittagong Vikings  won the toss and elected to field first.

Khulna Titans lost some quick wickets early on before Mahmudullah Riyad and Ariful Haque's handy knocks took them to 170 for the loss of seven wickets.

A cameo innings from West Indies T20 captain Carlos Braithwaite added some much needed runs in the death overs to ensure a strong total for the Titans.

Mahmudullah's knock held the innings together when it mattered and he struck 40 of 33 deliveries to bring the Titans back on their feet.

Braithwaite struck a 14-ball 30 and was involved in a 55-run partnership from just 21-deliveries with Ariful Haque, who played a quickfire 25-ball 40, an innings that contained one four and four sixes.

Sunzamul was the pick of the Chittagong bowlers having picked up two wickets for 20 runs from three overs.

Pacer Taskin Ahmed ended up on the expensive side but he was able to pick up the important wickets of both  Mahmudullah and Ariful Haque in the last over as he finished with figures of three for 43 from his four overs.
