Imrul makes a return to Tigers’ squad for SL final
Left-handed batsman Imrul Kayes makes a return to the Tigers' squad ahead of the final against Sri Lanka on January 27.
BCB announced the squad for the upcoming final today via a press release.
Imrul Kayes, who was part of the 16-man Tigers' squad for the first two matches of the tri-nation series could not feature in any of the matches owing to an injury. He was left out of the 15-man squad for the third and fourth match of the series.
Imrul staked his claim by striking his 16th first-class hundred -- a 131-ball 118 BCB North Zone in a BCL match.
Concern over opener Anamul Haque's form can be thought of as a possible reason for Imrul's inclusion in the squad ahead of the all-important final against Sri Lanka. Anamul managed scores of 19, 39, 1 and 0 in his last four appearences for the Tigers.
Bangladesh Squad: Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (C), Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman, Anamul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Nasir Hossain, Sabbir Rahman, Mohammad Mithun, Rubel Hossain, Abul Hasan, Mohammad Saifufddin, Sunzamul Islam.
