Won’t give an inch: Nasir
A bold and confident Bangladesh look to keep India down on the mat and deliver the finishing blow on June 24, 2015 during the third and final game of the 3-match ODI series at Mirpur.
'Bangla-wash' beckons for Bangladesh, after two emphatic wins earlier in the series. Bangladesh will be the third country after West Indies and South Africa to inflict a whitewash on India if they win on Wednesday.
With only pride at stake after the series loss, India will be desperate to avoid the ignominy of being Bangladesh's latest victim at home after Pakistan.
India have been at the receiving end of three whitewashes in their ODI history. 5-0 pasting against West Indies, 1983/84. 5-0 thrashing at the hands of West Indies in 1988/89. 4-0 drubbing from South Africa in 2006/07.
Will it be a 3-0 embarrassment for India on June 24 at Mirpur? Bangladesh all-rounder Nasir Hossain is dead serious about playing to win, take no prisoners…go for the kill!
…And why not? Bangladesh is playing a fearless brand of cricket from last November and has won their 10th game at home on the trot on June 21.
When journalists asked Nasir if his team might drop the guard with two comfortable wins, the Bangladeshi cricketer was quick to dismiss the notion on behalf of his team.
"We spoke in the dressing-room just before going out to training [on Tuesday]. We have told to be as serious as we would be if we had lost the first two games. We will not give an inch."
Nasir Hossain said about Bangladesh guarding against complacency.
Bangladesh's coach talked about preparing for the last game of the series against India, and appeared unfazed about the hype surrounding Wednesday's game at Mirpur.
"…the main thing is that the players are playing hard and hard, and that's what we are playing for." Chandika Hathurusingha said while taking to the media.
Let's hope Bangladesh can keep going like they have and deliver another Bangla-wash for the entire country to rejoice, tenth-time for Bangladesh to feel united as a nation.
