No agent for Taimur at 9 polling centres out of 45

Agents for independent mayoral candidate Taimur Alam Khandakar were not found at nine polling centres, out of 45 in Siddhirganj and Bandar, during the Narayanganj City Corporation election today.
During visits, our correspondents found that none of Taimur's agents were at the polling centres.
At Siddhirganj, our correspondent Asifur Rahman visited Adamjinagar Government Primary School, Haji Fazlul Haque Model High School, MW High School, Safar Ali Bhuiyan High School, two centres of Safura Khatun Pilot Girls High School, Sumilpara Government Primary School and Char Sumilpara Government Primary School.
Only polling agents for "elephant" -- Taimur's symbol -- were found at Adamjinagar Government Primary School, Char Sumilpara Government Primary School and MW High School centres but the agents were not at all the booths of the three centres.
An agent, seeking anonymity, alleged of misconduct from polling officers and presiding officers.
However, agents for Awami League candidate Selina Hayat Ivy were seen in almost all the centres.
Taimur's chief election agent ATM Kamal, also general secretary of Narayanganj city unit of BNP, alleged that their agents were driven out from 10-12 polling centres in Siddhirganj and Narayanganj city. The Election Commission has been informed, he said.
Replying to a query, ATM Kamal said the ruling party men have driven out their agents from polling centres.
During visit to Bandar Girls School, our correspondent Mahbubur Rahman Khan found that all polling agents of Taimur were wearing identity cards containing similar errors. In all the ID cards, name of contesting candidate was written, "Ivy Rahman".
One of the polling agents, however, claimed, "These are done mistakenly."
