4 BSF men killed on Jammu border
Four Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, including an officer, were killed and five wounded in firing by Pakistan Rangers along the International Border (IB) in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir state, a senior BSF officer said today.
"Pakistan Rangers initiated cross-border firing along the IB in Ramgarh sector last night.
We have lost four of our personnel, including an Assistant Commandant- rank officer while other 3 of our personnel suffered injuries," our New Delhi correspodent reports quoting BSF IG (Jammu Frontier) Ram Awtar.
He said Pakistan Rangers and the BSF had recently agreed to ensure ceasefire along the border but the former violated it by initiating cross-border firing.
Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) S P Vaid said in a tweet that in Ramgarh - Jammu sector of the borer, four BSF personnel were martyred and 5 others sustained injured due to firing from across the border.
