Star Showbiz: How was the year 2018 for acting in dramas?

Tawsif Mahbub: This year went very well for me. I spent a lot of time with my family this year, that's why I didn't do many projects this year. My wife noticed that and told me to pay more attention to my work, as I had not been giving enough attention to my projects for the previous two or three months.

Showbiz: How much attention did you get for your dramas?

Tawsif: I did seven dramas in 2018. All of them gained more than a million views on YouTube. I think my decision to not do dramas without a small break between them made sure there was some difference in my acting. That made the audience liked my performances more.

Showbiz: Do you want to talk about some drama especially?

Tawsif: I did a drama for Eid-ul-Fitr called Fahim the Great Fazil. Audiences liked that drama a lot. Other dramas like Ami Tomar Golpo Hobo, A Driver, Porichoy and others were also loved by the audience.

Showbiz: Which drama was the turning point in your career?

Tawsif: The first drama in my career, All Time Dourer Upor was a big turning point in my career. Another drama, Ami Tomar Golpo Hobo was a turning point in my career. Before that drama, I used to get calls from around 10 directors, but now I get offers from around 15 directors at a time.

Showbiz: Do you have any plans for the next year?

Tawsif: Until now, my plans for the next year are till Valentine's Day. During that time, we actors get a big chance to showcase our skills. People really enjoy watching romantic dramas. And the amount of actors that do romantic dramas is really low. So, these dramas give me the chance to prove my skills. I want to take my acting to a new level by doing these dramas next year.
