Rohingya man shot dead in Ukhia

Unidentified masked miscreants have shot a Rohingya camp leader dead in Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar.

The deceased was identified as Md Yusuf, who police said, died today after he was shot in the head around 8:00pm last evening.

Yusuf succumbed to his injuries this morning at the camp of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) while undergoing treatment there, Sailao Marma, additional superintendent of police (Ukhia circle).

"A group of masked assailants shot Yousuf from a point-blank range in Khaying Khali area of Ukhia," the police official told our Cox's Bazar staff correspondent.

Meanwhile, police arrested a Rohingya youth with a foreign made pistol and two rounds bullets in Balukhali Rohingya camp.

Angry mob gave a good beating to Mohammad Alam before handing him over to police.
