NID for Rohingyas: 2 election office staff held
Chittagong police arrested two employees of thana-level election office early today in connection with the much-talked-about case of National Identity (NID) scam involving Rohingyas.
The arrestees are Anwar Hosen, 47, office assistant of Mirershorai election office and Abul Khayer, 48, office assistant of Bandar Thana election office, our correspondent reports quoting Rajesh Barua, inspector of Chattogram Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit.
With the duo, a total of 10 persons have been arrested so far in the case, said Rajesh, also the investigation officer(IO) of the case.
Based on information given by the other arrestees, Anwar and Bulbul were held from their respective residents in the port city.
