Sylhet city mayor files GD over death threat

The mayor of Sylhet City Corporation has filed a general diary (GD) with Kotwali Police Station today after he was threatened with life this morning.

Shahabuddin Shihab, public relations officer (PRO) of the mayor office, filed the case on behalf of Mayor Ariful Haq Chowdhury, reports our Sylhet correspondent quoting the PRO.

The mayor received phone calls from two unknown mobile phone numbers in the morning and was threatened with life by the callers, Shahabuddin Shihab said.

The GD was taken into consideration and police are now trying to trace the two numbers, Officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station Selim Miah told the correspondent.
