Quader thanks Fakhrul

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today thanked his BNP counterpart for remaining mum over the Supreme Court’s observation on BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.

Referring to the observation in the 16th amendment verdict that dubbed Ziaur Rahman’s power grabbing illegal, Quader thanked BNP for remaining quiet in this regard, reports Prothom Alo.

“He (Fakhrul) did not protest or express any opinion in this regard. So thanks to him,” he said.

“Silence is the sign of agreement,” Quader said pointing to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a relief distribution programme to flood victims in Syedpur.
