No electoral irregularity will be tolerated: CEC

Election Commission will not tolerate any electoral irregularity during the upcoming Dhaka and Chittagong city corporation polls, the chief election commissioner said today.

“All necessary measures have been taken to hold the elections in free and fair manner” Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad said at a view exchange meeting with the mayoral and councillor aspirants of the Dhaka South City Corporation.

The CEC also directed the law enforcers not to harass anyone without any specific charge of allegations.

The commissioners to the EC and Dhaka Metropolitan Police and government officials and DSCC mayoral and councillor aspirants were present at the meeting held at Krishibid Institution in Dhaka.
