Maiden JS session to continue till March 11

The maiden session of the 11th Parliament, that started on January 30, will continue till March 11.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the current parliament held at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today.

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, also the committee chairperson, presided over the meeting.

The BAC meeting also empowered the Speaker to extend or reduce the working days of the current session, according to a press release of the Parliament Secretariat.

Members of the committee -- Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Raushan Ershad, Amir Hossain Amu, Tofail Ahmed, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Hasanul Huq Inu, Deputy Speaker M Fazle Rabbi Mia, Law Minister Anisul Huq, Anisul Islam Mahmud and Chief Whip Nur-E-Alam Chowdhury -- were present at the meeting.
