Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student front of ruling Awami League, announced its 25-member panel for contesting the long-pending Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) election slated for March 11.

Sanjit Chandra Das, president of DU unit BCL, has declared the names of Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon and Golam Rabbani as the panel president and general secretary respectively.

Rezwanul is the current BCL Central president while Rabbani is BCL central general secretary.

Sanjit announced the names of the panel members during a press briefing at the Ducsu office on the DU campus this afternoon.

The name of Saddam Hussain, BCL DU unit general secretary,has been announced as the assistant general secretary of the panel, Sanjit informed the reporters.

The names of nine secretaries are: Saad-Bin-Quader, liberation war affairs secretary; Arif Ibne Ali, science and technology affairs secretary; Lipi Akhter, common room and cafeteria affairs secretary; Shahria Tanjina Arni, international affairs secretary; Majhharul Kabir Shayla, literature secretary; Shakil Ahmmed Tanvir, Sports secretary; Rakib Hawlader, secretary of students transport affairs; and Ajijul Haque Sarker, social welfare secretary.

DUCSU POLLS SCHEDULE

On February 11, 2019, the Dhaka University authorities announced the schedule of elections to Ducsu and hall unions saying the polls will be held on March 11 with polling centres set up at the dormitories.

The distribution of nomination papers for 25 posts started on February 19 and will continue until February 25. The last date of nomination paper submission is February 26.

Anyone can withdraw candidacy till 1:00pm on March 2 while the final list of candidates will be published on March 3. The supplementary voter list will be published on March 5.
