Quader released from Singapore hospital

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, who is now undergoing treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, was released from the hospital this afternoon.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, was discharged from the hospital around 3:00pm (local time), Prof Dr Abu Nasar Rizvi, the doctor accompanying Quader in Singapore, disclosed the information, according to the ministry's media wing source.

After getting the clearance, Quader, was taken to a rented house there for some days for his further follow up treatment, the source said.

The minister was admitted to Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on March 3 last. Later, he was diagnosed with three blocks in his coronary arteries.

The next day, a Mount Elizabeth Hospital air ambulance flew Quader to Singapore for better treatment as advised by doctors including famous Indian cardiologist Devi Shetty.

On March 20, the minister’s bypass surgery was conducted successfully in Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital.

With the gradual improvement, he was taken to the hospital’s cabin from the ICU on March 26 last.
