Khaleda’s bail: Law will take its own course, says Anisul
Law Minister Anisul Huq today said the law regarding BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s release from jail will take its own course.
“The trial court has sentenced Khaleda Zia to five years’ imprisonment for emblazing the money of orphans (in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case). The High Court has enhanced her jail sentence to 10 years’ imprisonment. Now the law will take its own course,” he said.
The law minister was speaking to reporters after inaugurating the Bhola’s additional district and sessions judge’s court building at Char Fashion in the district, a law ministry press release said.
Earlier in the day during the inauguration meeting, Anisul said that the people of Bangladesh need not worry as long as Sheikh Hasina is the prime minister of the country as she wants to make every citizen of the country happy.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has presented Bangladesh as the role model of development before the world, he said, adding that she (PM) feels people’s pain.
Local Awami League lawmaker Abdullah Al Islam Jacob and ASSM Zahirul Haque Dulal, among others, spoke to the occasion.
