Khaleda to hold workers’ rally May 1

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will hold a workers’ rally in Dhaka on May 1 on the occasion of May Day.
The rally will be held at Suhrawardy Udyan in the afternoon, Rizvi Ahmed, BNP senior joint secretary general, made the announcement in a press conference at party’s Nayapaltan central office today.
The press conference was held following a joint meeting of BNP where leaders of the party’s different front organisations participated.
On Saturday’s third phase of union parishad elections, he said the polls were out and out a “farcical” as massive irregularities and vote rigging took place in the elections.

“There is no meaning of holding such elections. The Election Commission is working as a subservient of the government to elect Awami League candidates,” Rizvi alleged.
