Khaleda accuses govt of ‘politicising judiciary’
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia today accused the government of “politicising the judiciary” and all other institutions.
She also said the ruling Awami League supporters are enjoying amnesty after committing all crimes, including killing, robbery and corruption.
The BNP leader said political consideration has been the main thing for recruitment in public services.
“Now, neither merit nor seniority is the main thing to consider for recruitment,” she said while addressing an iftar programme of pro-BNP Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) at Dhaka Ladies Club.
The former premier alleged that many senior doctors have been “forced to leave their jobs” for supporting BNP.
Khaleda also alleged that “police have gone out of the government’s control”. “Hands of police are larger than the laws.”
The BNP chief said, “Police are doing business by arresting people and issuing threats of killing and abduction.”
Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion, Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh President AQM Badruddoza Chowdhurycalled for national unity to “restore the country’s democracy”.
