Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) today urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to stop her party’s top leader Syed Ashraful Islam from “throwing mud” for the sake of the unity of Awami League-led political combine.

Leaders of the left-leaning party, now a member of the ruling coalition, came up with the request a day after Ashraf accused JSD for “creating the ground for assassination of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.”

Today, JSD organised a rally in front of Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka and made the request to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

Syed Ashraf yesterday said that AL would have to repent for inducting a JSD member into the cabinet. He also accused the JSD of making grounds for the assassination of Bangabandhu and creating controversy over the history of Liberation War.

Blaming each other like this way will destroy the unity of the 14-party alliance when Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu is working for the development, Shirin Akter, secretary general of JSD, said during the rally.
